Business is Doing Good

Monday, December 7, 2009
Despite some few minor setbacks, I had been able to hurdle them all together with my team of Filipino freelance writers. We had been able to deliver high quality articles that are would be used for SEO or Search Engine Optimization. Though I had been lacking sleep this past few months, I must say that it is all worth it and J.D. Lim Creative Solutions Inc. sees a bright future ahead for all of us.

It is really heartwarming to get really good feedbacks from my clients especially on how informative the articles we had been writing. Though the purpose of the article is for SEO, we always believe that we should not compromise the quality of our content just to make our article SEO - friendly. That is because no matter how SEO - friendly the article is but it lacks sense with its content, then it would be useless since the visitor won’t be interested to read it or be enticed to buy a product. That is why I always tellmy writers that ‘good SEO is also good content.’

I am also very lucky to have the current Filipino freelance writers I have in my team. Unlike in the past wherein I have ‘delinquents’ who had been causing me too much problems, my current team members are all highly-competent and had several years of experience working as a freelance writers. Recently, I had been able to get one writer that I can proudly say a ‘true and certified SEO expert.’ She had been handling a website for the Asia-Pacific branch of a multinational company based in the US for the past nine years and she had been able to help a lot in directing more traffic to their site and translating them into actual sales. If you doubt my claims here, you may request for her CV. :)

Aside from her, all of the writers that I had taken in the team had been very great and able to deliver original and high quality articles. So far, the only problem that I’ve encountered was with a writer who suddenly turned to sourgraping when she does not get a project immediately. She could not understand that I am still waiting for the final instructions from the client to proceed and what should we do. Anyway, I dropped her off the team so I won’t be having any problems again.

So far, my clients had been very kind to me and I really appreciate that they believe in our capabilities as Flipino freelance writers and I really do hope to get more projects from clients like them. As of now, I am under a long term contract with three of my clients who needs SEO articles.

As for hiring of team members, I am still open for applications but I must warn you that I only take in those who are serious and passionate about freelance writing and can prove their competence. I had been strict in screening the applicant beacuse I want only to have the best writers in my team.

Of course, we are very much eager to take on different projects related to website contents and academic writing as well. Our contact details are on the right side of your screen. We can assure you of highly professional and competent services that you can get from us. You may also ask for our updated  price list for the different services we are offering.

The way I see it, I am closing the year 2009 and welcome the year 2010 with a bang!

Maligayang Pasko sa ating lahat from all of us here at J.D. Lim Creative Solutions Inc. and Filipino Freelance Writers. :)

Why Choose Freelance Writers from the Philippines?

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Lately, more and more Filipino freelance writers are getting noticed by the freelance writing industry and some are actually being hired to do big projects to do content for websites or help them finish their thesis and term papers. It was not like this in the past. Before, Filipino freelance writers are usually undervalued and hardly noticed. For those who had been lucky enough to snatch a project in project, their typical problem would be being underpaid or worse, not being paid for their work. Well, we can attribute this to the fact that Filipino freelance writers are relatively new in this industry and most still needs to know the ins and outs of the freelance writing industry.

But thanks to the perseverance of the foremost Filipino freelance writers who had been able to master the craft and had been able to prove that we are indeed worthy to become freelance writers, things are much better now for  those who are just entering the scene. Unlike before, some clients now prefer to work with Filipino freelance writers than other nationalities. But why should clients looking for freelance writers should choose Filipinos? Here are some of the reasons why:

  • Basically, Filipino freelance writers know how to speak and write in the English language better than most of our Asian neighbors like India and China to cite a few. History will tell you that we had been under the American rule for almost half a decade and during their occupation, many Filipinos have been able to learn the English language very well that more than half a century later, we are still very much capable of writing and speaking in English. In fact, it already became the second language of Filipinos that when you are walking by the street here in the Philippines, you won’t meet a single person that does not know how to speak even a few phrases in English.
  • Filipinos are hardworking by nature. We tend to work day and night for 7 days a week just to finish a task. Some take it to the extreme wherein they literally spend sleepless nights just to get a job done. Many Filipino freelance writers I know sometimes really take it to the extreme especially of they’re working on urgent projects or orders that needs to be finished within 24 hours.
  • Filipinos are highly-skilled workers. Though we may not be able to do well in school, we excel in our own fields. Some excel in the arts. Some excel in different sciences. This is because we are driven by our passion to pursue our chosen fields. That’s why if you come across a Filipino freelance writer, you should expect that he/she is a skilled writer and writing is his/her passion.
  • Filipinos take their job seriously. In a poverty stricken country like us where jobs are scarce, Filipinos value their work very much. For us, it is the only thing that we’ve got to survive. That is why Filipinos are revered all over the world for their complete dedication to any task, work and job that would be given to them.
  • But above all, you get the best of personal touch of work by Filipinos. We regard every project you do to us as something important that we even take it as our own. We always view our work as the reflection of ourselves . We do not settle for anything less. In everything that we do, we always aim to do our best.

The reasons I stated above are just some of the million reasons why choose freelance writers from the Philippines. These are reasons that are not made up. These are backed by the thousands of clients served by Filipino freelance writers and thousands of high-quality projects submitted. Though it would be normal that some would fail, these failures are not without reasons - just like any other ordinary human being. But I can assure you that 99% of the time, you can expect the best kind of service you can get only from Filipino freelance writers.

About J.D. Lim Creative Solutions Inc.

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

How did my small ‘virtual’ company started? Let me share you an excerpt (with some parts edited) of the story taken from my personal blog here.

I signed up for a quite popular freelance writing site. I saw their ad on a popular blog and I became interested to join. I thought I would be having a great time working for them. But, the opposite had happened.

What really pissed me off is that it would take them a long time before they can actually check your submitted articles. What’s more is that they require you to finish it within 24 hours because it is alwayas ‘urgently needed’! Yet, it took them weeks before they can actually check it. So is it really urgent? Or they are just forcing their writers to produce more so they could earn more? It is a clear case of exploitation.

Aside from that, their rates are REALLY low. Imagine, 60 pesos for a 500 word article? Your creative juices is just worth 60 pesos! Whereas, later I found out that writers can actually be paid a minimum of 100 pesos per 300 word article! Again, that got into my nerves.

So when they had been able to check my submissions, more than two weeks had gone by. Then, they are returning it to me for revisions! So, I thought it would be right for me to complain about their unfair policy. But then and there, they had terminated me for ‘insubordination.’

Anyway, this experience had made me decide to put up a company one day that would value its writers and not treat them as robots - which had been finally realized last Friday (15th of May 2009).

J.D. Lim Creative Solutions Inc. is founded on these core values: I want my writers to feel that they are being valued, their works are well-compensated and give them the best opportunities to enhance their skills as a writer. It is a one-man company that is set to break barriers and norms.

It is a one-man company run by a 19-year old. But he believes that this company would grow and diversify its services and help others find a job and earn decent for their living. It is the biggest risk that this young man had ever taken ever since he dreamt of having his own business. It is a new venture made by one man that positions itself and aims to be the best company to be a freelance writer here in the Philippines.

It also aims itself to topple the so-called leader in freelance writing business here in the Philippines that has no heart and soul for its writers and treats them as article-churning machines. It wants to set a precedent for future freelance writers and companies in general to value its workers - not its profits. It wants to set an example that a company will exist without the need for huge profit targets and be able to decently give its workers what is due for the work they did.

But above it all, it is a ‘virtual’ company born out of his love and passion for writing.

I just hope, with the aid of that loving Guy from above, things would go well and our team would be able to hurdle all the obstacles awaiting this company in this new journey.
